I’m going back to Dublin!
I told myself I was going to wait until 2012 (umm, Olympics, FTW) before going back to Europe, so I can save up and travel all over for at least a year.
But clearly, my brain hates me (or it may have been the product of too many vodka shots, I don’t know :P) because I just bought a ticket to Dublin for May 2009.
I couldn’t help it! I bought a round trip ticket (with taxes and fees included) from Toronto to Dublin for $406 Canadian. Yeah. Four hundred dollars for a round trip ticket to Dublin! It’s freaking insane! How the heck am I supposed to say no to that? My ticket to New York, a one hour flight away, cost me $500!
I can only go for ten days, and I might take a RyanAir flight to Edinburgh or somewhere else down in the continent, but still - I’m excited about spending at least a couple of days in Dublin again.
Oh, man - I can see it now: O’Connell Street…Temple Bar…Trinity College…Grafton Street…the Liffey…TEMPLE BAR. Ahem.
You guys should totally go with me. I’m a beastly tour guide, I tell ya ;).

You know what I hate about Australia? The fact that if you ever want to leave the country, you’re going to have to fork out at least $1000…and that’s just to get to Asia! You’re looking at $1500-$2000 for Europe and America!
Needless to say, I’m incredibly jealous.

@Emsz: You should! I only got to go to Dublin and Belfast, but even then, I had such an awesome time in Ireland :D.
@Amanda: I guess that’s why I’m always so incredibly impressed by the Aussies and Kiwis I meet on the road! They have to spend twice the amount of money us Canadians do when backpacking across Europe, but still, they don’t let that factor deter them from experiencing tons of stuff while travelling :).
